Summer Fruit Salad

Check out this sweet snack that won’t spike your blood sugar!!

Fruit salad is a popular healthy dessert, so I wanted to give you my recipe for a great low glycemic load option for a crowd.

We all know too much sugar will leave you feeling sluggish after the blood sugar crash. Even when the sugar is from natural sources. And willpower is no match for the cravings that follow the crash.

So next time you’re making a salad for a crowd (or for yourself), focus on berries and melon that will impact your blood sugar less than other fruits. Even though melon has a high glycemic index, it’s glycemic load is low go you’re good to go.

And a bonus is the anti-inflammatory benefits of these fruits as well!!

Summer Fruit Salad

This is a great summer fruit salad. I like to choose low glycemic fruits that are in season so feel free to make substitutions. Great ready-to-eat in-season fruit, like chopped peaches, or blueberries are also good.
Prep Time 10 minutes
Course Dessert
Servings 10

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups watermelon  diced
  • 2 cups cantaloupe diced
  • 2 cups honeydew melon diced
  • 2 cups raspberries
  • 2 cups blackberries

Instructions
 

  • Place all fruit in a large bowl and gently toss. Serve & enjoy!
